Rita Keller is a nationally known CPA firm management consultant, speaker and author. She is a former shareholder and Chief Operating Officer of a large, successful, regional CPA firm and has over 30 years’ hands-on experience in the management, marketing, technology and administration of a successful firm. She played a key role in growing the firm from eleven people to over 125 team members, with 3 offices.
Keller is widely known for her leadership, presentation and implementation skills and her passion for people and relationships inside accounting firms. She works as a change agent for firms throughout the country focusing on culture, people, internal management, operations, implementation of initiatives and partner issues. She also provides an advisory/coaching program for the firm’s management team. Keller provides unique facilitation for partner retreats, bringing the people issues, succession issues and processes into the spotlight.

Beginning in 2005, Keller has been repeatedly named to Accounting Today’s list of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting. In 2014 and 2015 Keller was named one of The Most Powerful Women In Accounting by CPA Practice Advisor. She has also received the Everest Award from Management Summit, established to recognize major/ongoing contributions to the CPA profession and the Association for Accounting Administration ACE Award for achievement, commitment and excellence in CPA firm management and administration. Her popular daily blog, devoted to CPA firm management, continues to be named, by many sources, as one of the Top Accounting Blogs. She also publishes a monthly, CPA management newsletter. Keller was one of the first to earn the AAAPM (Accredited Administrator in Accounting Practice Management) from The Association for Accounting Administration.
Keller served as Chair of the AICPA PractitionersTECH+ Planning Committee, currently serves on the Ohio CPA Society Member Services Advisory Committee and Women’s Initiative Committee. Keller served on the national Board of Directors of The Association for Accounting Administration (AAA) where she served two terms as National President. She is past-president of the Indiana Chapter and cofounder of the Ohio Chapter of AAA. Keller is a contributing author to the AICPA MAP Handbook, AICPA PCPS Human Capital Center and is often quoted in CPA management publications, Internet newsletters, blogs, Facebook and Twitter. She has been featured numerous times in the Journal of Accountancy and authored the article, Make the Most of Mentoring, for the August 2008 issue of the Journal.
As a member of The New Horizon Group and The CPA Consultants’ Alliance, comprised of some of the most respected consultants to the CPA profession, Keller is able to maintain a keen sense of what CPA firms are facing nationwide. Keller is also co-founder of SurveyCPA, a people issues survey resource for the CPA profession.
