Who Are You?

In my Twitter feed, this came up a few days ago and it made me think:

“You need someone in your life who sees who you really are. More importantly, you need someone in your life who helps YOU see who you are.” – Dan Rockwell (@Leadershipfreak)

I have had many mentors during my career. Some were older, some younger, some were peers, some were bosses, most were unpaid and some we actually paid to coach and mentor me. They all made me take a more in-depth look at myself and made me better.

You might think your spouse would be that person and maybe that is so in your personal life. But, I have observed that most professionals are a different person at work than they are at home.

So, maybe you need a business mentor and perhaps a personal coach.

I have had many clients over the years. They are individuals, working in accounting firms, who need someone to talk to and to help them figure out what is best for them. I believe the quote above will help me be even more of a help to others.

I hope it will help YOU be a better mentor, coach, boss to those people who look to you for guidance.
